Mamet’s November, a Timely Political Comedy Now at Mark Taper Forum, Sept. 26 to Nov. 4

David Mamet’s fiendishly funny comedy, November, will be presented at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, September 26 through November 4. The opening is set for October 7, and features a cast of stars: Ed Begley, Jr., Felicity Huffman and Rod McLachlan, Gregory Cruz and Todd Weeks.

Just in time for the 2012 election, November, , directed by Scott Zigler, takes place a few days before a presidential election and incumbent Charles Smith (Begley) is in for a rough month — his campaign funds are running out, his poll numbers are “lower than Gandhi’s cholesterol” and the sofa needs to be reupholstered. Although his speechwriter (Huffman) seems to have defected, his chief of staff (McLachlan) has all but given up and his wife is planning for her post-White House life, Charles isn’t ready to throw in the towel quite yet.

The Mark Taper Forum is located at 135 N. Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012, at the Music Center of Los Angeles County, within easy freeway access, bordered by Temple St, N Grand Ave, First St and Hope St.
