National Park Service Hosts Native American Art Lecture and Exhibit

The National Park Service will host an art lecture and exhibit at the Satwiwa Native American Culture Center on Sunday, July 8. Self-taught airbrush artist Steven Garcia, of Mescalero Yaqui and Tongva heritage, will discuss his influences and techniques during the morning presentation from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The exhibit opening will take place that afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m.
The artwork will remain on display through September 22, 2012. All ages are welcome, and the program and parking are free.
Directions to Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center: From the Ventura Freeway (101), exit at Wendy Drive and head south. Turn right on Lynn Road. Turn left on Via Goleta. Continue all the way to a parking lot where the road ends. Walk 0.3 miles to the Culture Center. For questions, please call (805) 370-2301.
