Topanga Town Council Statement on Herbicide Spraying Ad Hoc Committee Meeting, July 11
June 28, 2012 -
Topanga Town Council president Stacy Sledge released the following statement regarding herbicide spraying along Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Upon hearing the concerns of the Topanga community regarding CalTran's recent spraying of herbicides along Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the Topanga Town Council, as a member of a County ad hoc committee addressing this specific issue, supports non-toxic means for weed eradication along Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
The Town Council will be advocating for an amenable and long-term written agreement between responsible parties and the Topanga community to control vegetation and reduce fire and traffic hazards.
The first meeting of the TCB Ad Hoc Committee that includes Caltrans and representatives of Supervisor Zev Yaroslavskys office will take place on July 11, 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the Topanga Library Community room.
