The King Gillette Ranch is now host to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) Anthony C. Beilenson Visitors Center that will highlight the beauty and majesty of the Santa Monica Mountains.
The shared facility was funded and constructed for the National Park Service (NPS), California State Parks, the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority in a building that was formerly the horse stable for the Gillette Mansion on the 588-acre King Gillette Ranch and repurposed to serve an anticipated 35 million annual visitors to the SMMNRA.
The formal dedication ceremony on June 9 began at 10 a.m. and was followed by tours of the facilities and a variety of ranger-led activities suitable for all ages.
King Gillette Ranch is located at 26800 West Mulholland Highway, Calabasas, CA 91302.
