On Saturday, July 24, HoPe Veterinary Center (a 501(c)3 nonprofit) opened its doors in West Los Angeles, where it offers pets of the homeless state-of-the-art veterinary care free of charge.
A full-service veterinary facility, staffed by volunteer veterinarians, technicians and support personnel, it also provides routine services such as spaying, neutering and vaccinations. Pets in need of emergency surgery, hospitalization or specialized diagnostic testing are transferred to VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, where they receive all care free of charge. Free pet food, donated by participating companies, will also be available for HoPe patients. Free lunch will also be provided for pet owners during clinic hours.
VCA Antech has donated the space for the center and provides additional resources of food donations and discounts for medical services.
The center is located at Animal Imaging, 1827 Pontius Avenue, West Los Angeles and is open one Saturday a month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information: hopeveterinarycenter.org; (877) 910-4682.
